The Bugulma remote campus was founded in November, 1995 due to the initiative and participation of Professor A.V. Efremov, who became its first Director.

Academics
The Bugulma remote campus runs the following Bachelor’s Degree Programs:

1. Chemical Technologies and Biotechnologies
2. Technological Machinery and Equipment
3. Food Technologies
4. Management

Students are trained to work in petroleum, petrochemical and food industry. Most of the graduates have a successful career in Bugulma, the Tatarstan Republic and in the neighboring petroleum producing Bashkortostan Republic.

Research
Research is carried out under the supervision of Professors M.I. Starshov and A.Kh. Mukhametdinova in the following fields:

• Developing solvent composition on the basis of carbonic fractions of petrochemical industry;
• Development and refinery of extra heavy crude oil and natural bitumens.
