The second meeting of the members of the Consortium of Russian and Kazakhstan Technical Universities was at Kazan State Power Engineering University on September 21. KNRTU has been the member of the consortium since December 2020. Consortium is the platform for the development of education, science and technology between the countries.

Vice-rector for Research and Innovations Aleksandr Kopylov and the Director of International Affairs Anna Ebel represented Kazan National Research Technological University.

General consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Iskhakov opened the meeting and emphasized great interest of the authority of Kazakhstan to the development of cooperation in the field of research and education between The Republic of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation.

The results of the consortium activity and the entry of three new participants into the Consortium were the main questions discussed during the meeting.

Among the participants were: Vice rector for Research and Innovation of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, coordinator of the Consortium on the part of Kazakhstan; representatives of three new partner Universities of the Consortium (Kazan State Agrarian University, Kazakh Agrotechnical University, West Kazakhstan Innovative and Technological University).

Participants on the part of Russian Federation were: Vice Rector of Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University Andrey Kopisov, Chair of the Department of Electric Power Engineering of Ural Federal University Sergey Kokin, Vice Rector of National Research University "Moscow Power Engineering Institute" Aleksandr Tarasov, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation of Kazan National Research Technological University Aleksandr Kopylov.

Aleksandr Kopylov mentioned about the results of partner universities collaboration, such as design of joint educational program in the field of petrochemistry and polymer chemistry with Atyrau Oil and Gaz University; research in cooperation with the Center «Veritas» of D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University carried out at the laboratories of the Department of Medical engineering of KNRTU.

The second part of the meeting was devoted to the presentation of research teams and attractive breakthrough projects of different Universities, Members of Consortium. Professor of the Department of Chemical plant machinery Aleksey Makhotkin gave a report about the research in creation of new technologies and machinery for the production of soda ash, phosphate, sulfuric and azotic acids, formaldehyde. The representatives of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University proposed collaboration in the above research.
