The Interfax Group presented the XIV annual National Ranking of Universities for 2023. The authors evaluated the performance of 368 universities in Russia. KNRTU improved its position this year by taking the 32nd place (last year position of KNRTU in the ranking was 34th).

The evaluation was based on processing data from surveys submitted by universities, available public data posted by educational institutions on their websites, public data from information resources of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and from Interfax Information and Analytical Systems. The performance of universities was evaluated according to several parameters: education, research and development, social environment, cooperation, innovations, entrepreneurship and brand.

Tatarstan was represented in the ranking by seven universities: KFU (8), KNRTU (32), KNRTU-KAI (43), KSMU (74), KSPEU (75), KIU (205-208), KSAU (284-289) and KSUAE (298-301).
