This week the All-Russian Conference with international participation “Theoretical and applied aspects of electrochemical processes and protection from corrosion” ended in KNRTU. About 50 oral reports were announced and 20 of them – in remote mode.

The geography of participants was very wide: from Rostov-on-Don to Novosibirsk. The participants discussed the issues concerning historical aspects of Kazan Electrochemical School, electrodeposition of coatings, electrochemical synthesis of catalytically active components and organic substances, obtaining of ultrapure silicon and its compounds from melts, corrosion monitoring methods, electrochemical corrosion mechanisms and methods of protection against corrosion, including the methods with the inhibitors, electrochemical techniques of wastewater neutralization, prospective chemical sources of electrical energy, and other topics.

All-union conferences on electrochemistry and corrosion processes were held earlier on the basis of KNRTU in 1977, 1987 – interinstitutional conferences on electrochemical technologies, 1985 – interinstitutional conference on protection of metals from corrosion. According to the organizational team, the time has come to renew the long-standing traditions and ties.
