The first international open cheerleading championship “International Cheerleading Champions League” ended in Kazakhstan. Russia was represented by teams from Kazan, St. Petersburg and Moscow, including the cheerleading team of our university “NCT”.

The championship program consisted of several blocks, where athletes could participate in 14 nominations, divided into age categories. The KNRTU team presented performances in two nominations - group and partner stunt. In addition to the competitive part, participants attended master classes of champions in cheer sport. For Kazakhstan, this is the first major competition, which brought representatives of other countries. All athletes noted the friendly atmosphere at the venue and constant support during the performance.

According to the results of the competition, our participants took 1st place in the nomination “Group Stunt”, as well as 2nd place in the nomination “Partner Stunt”. International judges appreciated the level of our university team and invited them to the World Cup in Korea.

“The Kazakhstan authorities discovered our team thanks to the Millennium Festival, which we organize every year. It was a challenge for us to show the level of cheerleading in Tatarstan and for the first time to represent KNRTU on the international arena in this sport”, said Rafkat Sakhapov, the Team Leader of KNRTU.
