Recently the international tournament of student teams "StudWorld" ended in Kazan. It was the first time that the event was held in our city. There were 8 teams from Russia and China who played three matches in three group rounds. The top teams in their groups were the RT team (Group A) and the U21 team (Russian Federation Student Hockey League). It was they who entered the duel for the gold medal.

In the final, the hosts won 4:0. The honor of the Tatarstan national team was defended by four KNRTU students - Kirill Degtyaryov, Igor Bystrov, Ildar Yamaleev and Ranis Sabirov.

I have been playing in the KNRTU hockey team since my first year," said Ranis. - It was honourable and very interesting to defend the Republic. The final game was quite exciting. The national team of the Russian Federation SHL included the best players from all over Russia. Undoubtedly, it was great to play against such great athletes! But our team had no inferior players, and most importantly - we had a team. Everyone knew each other, so there were no questions about chemistry. I would like to give a special thanks to the coaching staff - every game came with a set of instructions and the final was no exception. All we had to do was follow them and the result was a well-deserved team victory!

There was also a competition among the audience for the best 'fan sector' from Kazan universities and colleges. KNRTU fans came second and received 50 tickets for Ak Bars Continental Hockey League matches.
