History

The Department was established in 1919 as a part of Kazan Industrial College. The first Chair of the Department was a highly qualified mechanical engineer, Associate Professor P.I. Zhakov. Since 2004, the Department has been chaired by Associate Professor Vyacheslav A. Lashkov.

Research Activities

• Studying heat and mass exchange processes occurring within the pressure reduction of vapour-gas medium;
• Developing energy saving and waste-free technologies and equipment;
• Reliability and durability of compressor and turbo-refrigeration machines;
• Exploring shaft and rotor balancing techniques.
