History

The Department of Light industry technology and materials was founded in 1997. The first Chair of the Department was Lyudmila Nikolayevna Abutalipova, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Light Industry.

Academics

The Department offers the following educational programs:

Bachelor's Degree Programs:

• 29.03.01 Technology of Light Industry Products (Technology and Digital Design of Fashion Industry Products);
• 22.03.01 Material Science and Technology of Materials (Material Science and Material Quality Expertise).

Master's Degree Program:

• 29.04.01 Technology of Light Industry Products (Resource - Saving Technologies and Recycling).

Research Activities

The Department's research areas include:

• Resource-saving technologies of light industry products manufacturing and recycling;
• Modification, including plasma modification, of materials for light industry products;
• Digital technologies in light industry;
• Educational technologies for training of engineering personnel.

Laboratories

The Department has a Scientific and Educational Laboratory of Material Science and Sewing Training Laboratory.
