History

The Department was established in 1982 for the provision of microbiological plants with experts. The first Department chairs were Doctor of Science, Full Professor D. Pobedimsky (1982-1991) and Doctor of Science, Full Professor V. Gamayurova (1991-2004). Since 2004 the Department has been chaired by Doctor of Science, the Member of Russian Microbiological Society and Professor Alexander S. Sirotkin.
