KNRTU hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A.Buketov. The parties discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation in the scientific and educational fields.

Kulzhan Shaimerdenova, Head of the Department of Engineering Thermophysics named after prof. Zh.S. Akylbayev, and Saniia Suleimenova, lecturer of the same department, visited our university.

The delegation of the Kazakh university met with Alexander Sirotkin, Director of the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology at KNRTU, Vener Khairutdinov, Head of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Thermal Engineering, Vladislav Dryakhlov, Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, and Leysan Ziganshina, Head of the Department of International Activities.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of possible scientific cooperation. Special attention was paid to the prospects for the preparation of joint publications and the formation of joint applications for research grants — these topics were discussed during a meeting at the department with the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Thermal Engineering. The organization of joint scientific and practical conferences, the implementation of academic mobility programs for students and teachers, as well as the development of student exchanges are also among the priorities.

A guided tour of the university's laboratory facilities was organized for the guests. They visited the laboratories of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Thermal Engineering, and also got acquainted with the material and technical base of the Institute of Food Production and Biotechnology, which trains personnel in the field of food production, biotechnology and energy-saving technologies.

Following the meeting, concrete steps were outlined for the further development of partnerships between universities.

It should be noted that this is not the first meeting between Kazan and Karaganda colleagues. In 2025, KNRTU hosted a series of working meetings with Svetlana Karstina, Professor of the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology at the E. A. Buketov Karaganda University, who also delivered a series of lectures at the Department of Professional and Pedagogical Education as part of the Algarysh grant from the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The University named after Academician E.A.Buketov is one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Kazakhstan. He provides bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees, including in natural science and engineering programs, and actively collaborates with foreign universities and scientific organizations, including Russian ones.
